FAQs

What playing techniques are supported?

Legato, portamento (except on harmonica), and polyphony are supported across all instruments. Portamento between two notes is available in two types: velocity-based portamento, where velocity determines the portamento time, and fixed portamento. The portamento threshold sets the velocity level above which portamento is disabled. Each plugin has special articulations available specific to the instrument family. What are the system requirements?

  • All plugins need either Windows 11 or macOS 10.15.7 (or later).
  • Quad core Intel processor (i5 or later) or AMD equivalent (Windows or macOS). Apple Silicon (macOS) is natively supported. 16GB of RAM. You could typically run 8 instances of the plugin easily with such a configuration. The Naada plugins are heavily optimized to run fast on both Intel/AMD and Apple Silicon processors.
  • 50 MB per plugin type. Approximately 800MB for full installation (Standalone, AU and VST3) on macOS. 300MB on Windows. Admin permissions are needed for installation.
  • We do not support AAX format yet.

Is custom tuning supported?

Yes! Every note in an octave can be tuned. The default tuning is chromatic. Harmonica is however an exception.

What Midi controllers can I use?

There are different play modes available:

  • MidiMode4 : Every channel represents a string on a real instrument. This notion is extended to non-string instruments as well. If polyphony is enabled, it gets activated only for notes on a different channel. This allows great flexibility during playing.
  • MidiMode4 GeoShred : You could use GeoShred Midi out interface (https://www.moforte.com/) to control the plugins.
  • Auto-Polyphony: This is a mode particularly helpful when playing string instruments with a conventional midi controller. This can smartly switch between Mono and Poly phony based on the note sequence.
  • Single Channel / MPE : Conventional Midi controllers and MPE controllers
